This ban is rediculous, the reason is too. You say its becuase kids could hide a weapon in the pocket. Well guess what. Jeans have pockets, sweat pants have pockets, my joggers have pockets. Are those all banned to now? Or is that where ypu finally think its rediculous.
This is ridiculous. I have one child who attends South and can't wear her hoodie and another who attends Tech and can. Don't pick and choose which schools you want to penalize. Not wearing a hood will not prevent violence.
Taking away comfort in the name of "safety" isn't providing an environment for children to flourish. Educate, provide counselling, encourage teachers and professional staff to open their eyes. Hoodies aren't the problem.
A hoodie is just an item of clothing. It was designed for no other reason besides comfort. If someone chooses to misuse it, that specific individual should be punished, not a population of people.
Hoodies are a must when still in school, especially during winter and even whenever, taking that away is absurd and down right selfish. Kids travel long distance to get to school not all got a ride and the travel in the school for an education so yes to hoodies!
It shouldn't matter if you wear it or not bc one person or two or more did that, if you know what I mean, I mean one person did that in school doesn't mean anything about others, doesn't courage them to be like a killer or something. Since you guys ban it, it might courage people to do more. Well you just making us feeling unsafe from a teachers or whatever controlling us, you guys might have the power but what if student start drop off for that reason or feeling unsafe or not feeling of having to be free of what you wear. The ban on hoodies is a stereotypically judgemental. Just because we wear hoodies doesn't mean you're part of a gang. There was already a rule to not wear the hoods. Hoodies are a form of expression, not a representation of crime.
