In order to locally, and someday internationally, end the plastic era it is important to unite the community together and teach them ways to reduce the use of plastic in their life. Some ways to do so is refusing to use plastic straws.Instead of using straws, drink straight from a cup or carry a reusable straw with you. Another way to phase out plastic in your life is by using reusable metal or glass containers, for food or drinks. This cuts out the need for single use products such as plastic water bottles or sandwich bags. Also , wearing cloths made of synthetic fibers including cloths made of cotton, wool, hemp or silk help reduce plastic pollution. For clothing is a huge contributor to microplastic pollution! These are just some of the numerous ways to reduce plastic use everyday.

Making efforts to reduce the use of plastic will help put a end to tragic and toxic plastic pollution that negatively affects the environment everyday. While one person's efforts may seem small, combining everyone's together will be overwhelmingly helpful to the plastic epidemic at hand. Take a stand against plastic and help form the anti-plastic front that will put a end to the era of plastic.

Help me help you by signing this petition against the use of plastic! Help create a everlasting change in your environment today.

I was just looking at my own kitchen cabinets and realized how much plastic is hiding in the corners of my life despite how hard I try to be careful. It is honestly exhausting sometimes but reading the comments here keeps me going because so many of you are finding such creative ways to switch over to metal or glass containers. I am drafting a list of local shops that actually let you bring your own jars so keep an eye out for that soon.

I was looking at the screen and realized how much this has grown and it hits me that people actually care about ditching plastic in their daily routines as much as I do. It feels like the momentum is real now so I am going to start looking into how to reach out to the local council because this support proves we are not just a few people shouting into the void.
