More than 11 million children in California are at risk of experiencing hunger. Current California laws offer free or reduced-priced meals for eligible students in kindergarten to 12th grade. The Free School Meals For All Act of 2021 would provide school meals for all students in grade school. The bill prohibits schools from charging its students for meals served during the school day. The bills states that no child in California should experience hunger and every public school student should benefit from healthy meals during the school day. Approving the Free School Meals For All Act of 2021 will help eradicate hunger in schoolchildren.
