The leadership team has officially decided to remove the capstone requirement for the senior class. I am grateful to each of you for your participation and persistence in highlighting the toll this process took on our peers. This success belongs to all who contributed to the discussion.

Have you ever been up endless hours working on homework from every class? Have you ever struggled with completing your capstone despite getting help from your teachers? Many students at Butler College Prep are facing disorders such as: Anxiety, stress, and depression. The classes of 2017 and 2018 did not have to complete a capstone. The Class of 2019 believes that the leadership team at Butler is placing this capstone on the Seniors to see if it would be effective for the classes yet to come. However, they are failing. The leadership team have implemented consequences like taking away all senior activities, such as: Prom, Graduation, Camping Trip, Senior Night, and etc. We started this petition to come to a conclusion to end capstone for Seniors, for it is taking a toll on The Class of 2019.

Juniors and seniors have extra stress. Bad enough juniors have SAT STRESS NOW CAPSTONE STRESS AND ITS ALL DO AROUND THE SAME TIME. We are better off doing essays through out the year instead of having something held over our head and another obstacle hindering us from passing to the next grade.
This Capstone Is Making The Last Two Months Of MY SENIOR YEAR A Living Hell...I Was Excited About The Senior Incentives And Making The Best Of It But Now I’m Just Ready For June 9th So I Can Gradute...If I Pass....
I’VE BEEN STRESSING OUT SINCE I HEARD ABOUT CAPSTONE. Not to mention having to do extracurricular activities such as getting community service, enrichment, and also keeping academics stable.
This capstone has added stress on top of my anxiety on top of my depression. No high schooler has done a capstone and the staff has lied to us. You do not have a capstone in college. You will only have a capstone in GRADUATE SCHOOL DEPENDING ON YOUR INTENDED MAJOR!!!! #NOCAP
The capstone is a great thing to implement senior yr! however, like my peer said it’s the wrong time . It’s very unorganized

It was last minute and puts too much stress on us. We shouldn’t be test dummy’s for this. (Last class didn’t have this)
