John Madden called Henry Ellard one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history. Deion Sanders said Henry Ellard was the most difficult player to cover during his career. At the time of his retirement, Henry Ellard had produced some of the greatest numbers of any wide receiver in NFL history in numerous statistical categories. Based on statistical achievements and the accolades of others, we, the undersigned, believe that Henry Ellard is a worthy candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame and we ask the Hall of Fame selection committee to enshrine Henry Ellard in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2017.

The lack of movement from the committee is exhausting but reviewing the statistics again reminds me why this is necessary. I am continuing to reach out to voters even when the silence feels dismissive.

He was drafted the same year as Eric Dickerson and spent the first 5 years of his career blocking for him. His QBs were Jeff Kemp, Dieter Brock, Steve Bartkowski (end of his career), Steve Dils, and finally Jim Everett.
I'm a life long Rams fan and I think Henry Ellard was one of our best ever. Unfortunately Henry's contributions are often overlooked and his wonderful achievements overlooked for other more recent accomplishments. Henry should already be in the HOF but he would certainly be a worthy recipient.
As Deion put it.. Henry Ellard is the WR that gave him the most trouble in his career.. there’s a good reason why.
During his career he was the most explosive deep threat in the game. He was always among the top in yards per reception. He deserves to be in the HOF.
I watched Henry Ellard as a child. To this day, he is still my favorite player of all time.
He just happened to play to play at the same time and division as Jerry Rice!
Way to long over due! Look where was when he retired and look where he still is!

Henry Ellard is one of the most underrated wide receivers in NFL history. Mr Ellard should have been induced 15+ years ago. It's a stain on the HOF not to have his bust sitting in bronze in Canton.
