Although the anonymous tip line is good in theory, myself and fellow classmates believe it is an inaccurate way of obtaining information. This is high school, students are not mature enough to call in tips because it is (for the most part) inaccurate information due to rumors and gossip.

im hearing from so many of you about how this tip line is being used to spread rumors and honestly it just proves my point that we need to change how things work here. ive been putting together some notes on how it affects our day to day school life so we can show the administration exactly why this isnt helping anyone.

im honestly blown away by how much this has taken off and seeing everyone agree that this system is broken feels amazing. thank you for keeping this moving because it proves that people are finally tired of these rumors being taken seriously.

This is driving everyone insane and some kid got called down for being accused of bringing a bomb because somebody wanted to get him in trouble and of course the school believed it and got his parents involved and got him in trouble just because of his color. They Also searched me with no evidence of anything and made me leave class in the middle of a lesson

One of my buddies got accused of doing something just because of his race. CPHS is racist and they ain't letting my dude go.

this isnt a good way of obtaining information, because 100% of the high school students would be using this for gossip or payback. I doubt anyone would turn in something for the better cause, and so therefore we should eliminate it

I've heard nothing but people getting falsely accused for serious things. If teachers or administration could properly keep information private without the tip line then students would be more reliable instead of making false accusations

The anonymous tip line has become a tattle tell system, it has not affected me personally, but I share their frustration. We must at least regulate the anonymous tip line so one's well being isn't destroyed by someone's allegation. We should give some examples of when to use the tip line or when not to or we ruin our freedom of speech. If the anonymous tip line isn't regulated then I think it should be ended, because the anonymous tip line that is meant to help people is turning into the suck up in kindergarten that told on you for saying "butt."

The tip line should be used for something such as bullying or for students who are worried about another student hurting themselves. Instead, it is being used in the wrong way.
