Forcing students to swim when they are clearly uncomfortable being around water is unacceptable, immoral, and unconstitutional. With the a swimming unit now integrated into mandatory physical education classes, Malden High School is doing nothing but preventing good students from obtaining credits necessary for graduation. This policy is causing numerous students undue anxiety that, in many cases, will profoundly affect their other classes, extracurriculars, and mental health in general.
