Also what happens when a teacher gets sick and they are required to be out 14 days for quarantine?? Where will you find substitute teachers for all those cases?
The CDC says schools have must make "one way" hallways....can you see how big a fiasco that would be at a middle or high school?
How about recess? You think kids will keep masks on and stay 6 feet apart playing a game of tag???
To socially distance kids in a classroom you have to cut the number students half......so that means you need more teachers to be in the building. Well last I checked there is a serious teacher shortage already so that dog won't hunt.
From my research the disease is not transmitted from child to adult, it is adult to adult transmission in most cases. So have the teachers/adults in the school wear masks and let the kids do masks only if they want to.

Guys I am with you on kids needing to be in school but nobody seems to see the other side of the coin...SCHOOLS ARE NOT SET UP FOR CDC GUIDELINES!! Schools are not set up for social distancing, checking everyone's temperature when they walk in the door, isolating the kids who have fevers, calling the parents to pick up the kids who are sick, One way hallways, limited students in the bathroom at one time, keeping masks on the kids all day, eating lunch in their classrooms, having teachers teach in person, then online at the same time for students who decide to stay home, teachers who get sick and then have to stay out 14 days, lack of sub teachers.......I could go on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the problem.....you take away the CDC guidelines and can run schools like normal or even have only the adults wear masks (the science shows kids do not transmit the disease like adults) then you can have school face to face.

Guys while I agree kids need to be in school, the problem is SCHOOLS ARE NOT SET UP for social distancing, checking temperatures, isolating kids with temperatures, limiting the number of kids in a bathroom, delivering lunch to classrooms, keeping kids masks on, the list goes on and on!!!
If schools have these restrictions they cannot operate with any type of efficiency!!! Please see the other side of the coin before putting it into the slot!

Parents and teachers have the right to have the option of a full time education for those who feel it it is right choice for their family, particularly when there is an option on the table for those who are not comfortable going back full time to choose online education. ‘Plan‘ B is not feasible for working families with children who need to maintain a decent standard of living, stability and routine. Plan B is devastating for working mothers in particular, and likely will have a negative impact on the earning potential for women in this state for years or decades to come. Equal pay for equal work will be nearly impossible with this kind of poor leadership.

My youngest son has an IEP and receives pt at school. How is he supposed to work with a therapist if he's not in school?

I have adhd children. Both of which have delays. This social distancing learning will not be if it them. If there are parents that want their children to stay home. So be it. My kids are suffering and ask daily when they’re returning to school.

There should be an option for in school. My kids need the interaction they can ONLY get by going to school! Offer virtual for anyone who wants it, but allow there to be an in school option for those of us who want it.

Face to Face is fundamental for our students! Parents that choose to keep their kids home it should be their option and parents that want to send their kids face to face should be able to, is not a one way option.
