Eden Radio, a community radio station based in Edenvale, Gauteng, was taken over by a group of seasoned radio people headed by Nick Megens a year ago. This station, to broadcast on AM 1368kHz will cover its ICASA designated footprint of Edenvale and surrounding areas in the Ekurhuleni metropole, is currently sourcing a suitable site for the erection of the antenna and transmitter. The studio has already been built at the Karaglen Mall in Edenglen, Edenvale.

ICASA requires us to demonstrate the illustrative support of residents in our footprint for our licence renewal for the following planned programming content:

1. Change the current licence condition from 50% talk and 50% music to 25% talk and 75% music.

2. Our primary focus is music and artists from the 60s & 70s decades, with a sprinkling of adult-contemporary hit tracks from the 50s, 80s, 90s and today, playing a mix of local and international music. The rotation policy will be that no track may be repeated within a 30-day period.

3. Another exciting and exclusive special feature of Eden Radio is that we have secured the original archive tapes of the incredibly popular Springbok Radio daily shows (Squad cars, Men from The Ministry, No Place To Hide, and many more popular shows. on an exclusive on-air basis in our coverage footprint). These episodes will be aired weekly, Mon – Sun, from 7pm – 9pm.

4. We will have daily four one hour talk shows covering community interest topics such as: Listeners Choice, The Health Hour, The Psychic, Sex & Relationships, Animals, Dating Disasters, Food & Restaurant Review, Jobs & Workplace, Crime Watch, Pensioners Corner, Legal Matters, Medical Matters, Local Musos Hour, The Motoring Show, The Shelter Show, The Travel Show, The Travel Show, Mental Issues, Everyday Heroes, The Swop/Trade Show, The Entrepreneur, Educational Matters, Local Business Support Show and Support XYZ Charity.

Eden Radio will be a station For the people in OUR community as well as listeners streaming in OUR country as well as people worldwide. YOUR input in the station will be vital to the SUCCESS of the station moving on to a BRIGHT future.
