We call on the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to amend Section 71.1 of the Child and Family Services Act to extend the maximum age to receive Extended Care and Maintenance (ECM) to age 25 from the current 21, in accordance with the report published by the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth in 2012. 21 is way too young to be cut off completely. give these kids a fighting chance to get on their feet.

it is so incredibly hard to make it on your own at 21. most people are still in school or struggling to find steady work. staying til 25 is just common sense and would save so many from falling through the cracks.
