We, the undersigned, call on the new Government to rescind the Employment Control Framework (ECF) for Irish third-level institutions as it constitutes a fundamental threat to the viability of research and teaching in the third-level system in Ireland.
We further call on the new Minister for Education to consult widely with all stakeholders on new funding arrangements for third-level.

The research sector is absolutely falling apart under this. How are we supposed to compete with the rest of the world if we cant even hire staff?

Ridiculous restrictions. Sort this out before all our best people leave for good.
