Michigan Horse Council wants to establish the position of the collective MI equestrian community that E Bikes NOT be allowed on any non-motorized trails in Michigan or the rest of the country. MHC representatives will present this signed petition to the United States Senators and Representatives attending the Congress Ride In being sponsored by the American Horse Council October 22-23, 2019. It will be personally presented to MI Senator Debbie Stabenow and MI Representative Gary Burgess during scheduled meetings.

I’m all for sharing the trails but so far cyclists are not willing to be curtious to horses. And don’t realize the danger they are putting themselves and riders when to close
Non-motorized should mean no motors. Horseback riders don't have the options for riding that other outdoor enthusiasts do. Please help us keep our trails open and safe.
No bicycles should be allowed to be on Equestrian Trails. There are plenty of Rail Trails that are multi use that Equestrians have been banned from using. Yes, even in Michigan after the Right to Ride act the No Horses signs are still up on the White Pine Trail.
The danger to the horse and rider is very real. Also the danger to the biker. Scared horses kick, rear, and run. Our children and their ponies need a safe place to ride and enjoy our Mich. parks just like every one else.
PLEASE keep us safe! This is a very, very bad idea! Horsemen spend a lot of money in the communities they ride in, and a lot of hard work goes in to maintaining the trails we love. This is so dangerous and unnecessary.
Bikes of any type dangerous on horse trailer. Horse can't hear them coming.

The quiet electric motor is worse than the gas engine. We can't hear it until the horse spooks and then horse, rider and the motorist can be injured in the blink of an eye.
