The Council finally caved and committed to building the footpath. We forced them to admit that keeping our children safe is not optional. Keep watching them until they actually break ground on the site.

In 2014, with significant help from the Co Council, a playground was erected outside Duncannon village on the R737. This playground has been used extensively since then and given pleasure to a large number of children and their parents. It is now used annually by thousands of children, visitors as well as locals. It has also been extended with additional facilities.

However, there is no footpath from the village to the playground. We are greatly concerned that an accident will happen along the road causing serious consequences.

This petition is asking the Co Council to act now and ensure that a footpath is built to the playground giving the children and their parents the safety they need.

The County Council is ignoring the fact that our children are walking on a dangerous road to reach that playground. We need to hit the hundred signature mark immediately to force them to stop stalling and start building. Get this link in front of everyone you know right now.

Hope this succeeds. Long overdue. Terrible to see people bring their cars such a short distance from the village because of this really dangerous stretch of road.

As a driver constantly using this stretch of road I have witnessed some very near misses as cars overtake pedestrians who have nowhere safe to walk. The most dangerous area is at the Chelsea corner. It is an accident waiting to happen.

A footpath is so needed & let's hope nobody gets hurt. This playground is brillant & gives hours of fun to the local children & holiday makers. I live 10km from the playground & we often visit .we have tried walking into the village but it is so dangerous as road busy so we must drive

As very regular visitors to Duncannon is footpath is very much needed, cars drive way to quick along that stretch of road. And speaking from experience it's very difficult to negotiate with a buggie and a walker

I could not agree more fully with the proposal. Absolute danger in summer with heavy traffic on road and at other times with boy racers driving at exessive speed. This should have been impemented years ago.

It is critical for the safety of all pedestrians that the path way is developed. It will make the play ground safer for locals and visitors alike and will open up the caravan park and Southbeach safely to the village.
