Dear Administrator McMurray, This petition is being composed concerning National Grid's current process of installing "DriveCam" a audio/video recorder within its fleet vehicles. DriveCam Inc. was awarded a two year exemption from 49 CFR 393.60(e)(1). Eventhough, DriveCam Inc. was awarded the exemption it has become the practice of National Grid to mount/install these devices outside of the exemption. We the undersigned feel that National Grid and DriveCam have failed to carry their burden of proof that these recorders provide value that outweighs their negative consequeces: from driver distraction to line of sight interference. We are requesting that exemption be re-opened for review and testimony. Thank you

Enough is enough. Put them where they belong or get rid of them entirely. Safety first right?

total invasion of privacy and a huge safety issue. national grid needs to quit worrying about cameras and focus on the drivers.

These things are a massive headache. Total distraction while trying to focus on the road. Take them out of our cabs.

My husband complains about these every single day. He says they block his view and make him feel like hes being watched every second. Ridiculous.

Just another way for management to micromanage us. Not worth the risk to our vision or our focus.

We need to re-evaluate this. It is dangerous enough driving a truck without having electronics blocking the windshield.
