This petition is aimed towards the persuasion of the Mayor and City Council of Red Deer, Alberta. The goal of this petition is to show the numbers of people who want to positively change the sport of Drifting's image in Red Deer and all of Alberta. With this petition myself (Dallas Owen) and others would like to see a movement sweep through the administration of our city and hear the public's cry for a sanction area in which to pursue the sport that we call our own. The RCMP are stretched to their limits when it comes to dealing with the "street racers" and "drifters" in Red Deer and the surrounding area. We are asking the city to build us a track and it does not have to be big at all, just a place where we can use our car's in a legal and sanctioned manner. This petition is long overdue and the city of Red Deer would become a central meeting ground for drifter's and the lover's of the sport throughout all of Alberta. With the help of everyone in the drifting and motor sport community, we are asking you to sign this petition to take drifting off the streets and to create a legal venue in which the government, the public and the RCMP can all benefit from.
