School dress codes tell girls that their bodies are inherently sexual. And that girls are not entitled to human decency and respect unless they cover up. Sign this petition if you believe there should be a change.

Girls get in trouble for having the shoulder showing like sorry didnt know boys can get that distracted by my shoulder yet you can walk into gym and see them shirtless.

Do not teach young girls to be ashamed of their bodies and do not label them as sexual objects. Teach them empowerment as you already over-teach it to hypermasculine boys. Let young women wear what they'd like and do not shame them for baring their skin in hot weather!

This code is also in place in AISD middle schools and drove my daughter crazy. She could be the same size as someone else, same height, wearing the same shorts but only she would get coded because of her long fingers.

i can't even wear nike shorts without getting dresscoded!! guys can have their pants hanging down to their butts, but we can't even wear shorts or leggings have to pass our knees?? if wearing leggings, shirts should just have to cover your butt..

Each child's parent has to pay more money every year to to buy extra close that fulfill Leander ISD guidelines. After school and on weekends others see them in their "preferred" clothing. I don't think it will be a distraction to the education of our children. LISD parent!

If you interrupt a females education because her bra strap is showing, or shorts are to short, because it interrupts makes education... You're telling us that a guys education is more important then a girls

I believe my school is using sexism towards females...they tell us to cover up and it's pretty much not fair for us..
