This petition is to show the Sweetwater County Commissioners and Events Complex Board that there is a significant interest in an expansion of the Sweetwater County Events Complex that includes a 1/4 Mile Drag Strip. Several recent polls/petitions circulated around Rock Springs have shown support for a City/County owned Drag Strip in order to lower the incidents of illegal street races. Please sign this petition if you feel a legal, safe venue for racing all types of vehicles would benefit Sweetwater County Citizens and bring revenue to our city.

I just saw the counter hit two hundred and fifty signatures which is honestly more than I ever expected when I started this while drinking coffee in my garage. It is wild to think about that many people actually wanting the same thing for the complex instead of just complaining about the noise or the traffic on social media. I might need to drive over to the commissioners office soon just to see how they look when I drop this pile of paper on their desk.

Would LOVE to see this happen! We have a HUGE car community. This would also be a good place to double as a car show during a weekend or such. Provide jobs and provide revenue for the community.
Fantastic and fun thing to do. As a retired state trooper and law enforcement author, I fully support this.
It would be nice to have a drag strip. When I lived in Las Vegas we did midnight mayhem we raced from 8 pm to 1 am to stop street racing. There was at lest 200 cars that showed up. We payed 15 for the night I could see this being something we could do here I know we would have the participation to make this worth doing
This is by far a better solution than allowing street racing on a public street. I thought the plan was to expand the events complex to diversify activities out there for many people. Here's a chance!
We need this at our events complex ... you tore out the 100 yard sand drag track that made revenue to put in camping spaces that make no revenue. ... dumb move ... build this it will bring revenue to our great community and it's fun.....

With closures of our Utah track, we are currently driving 5-6 hours to race in surrounding states. You would have support and racers coming from SLC.
