Downtown Spencer Festival Ordinance Committee

As long as this is a peaceful even, and I believe it will be, I see no reason to ban it. This group deserves to be loved, as we all do.

Please keep community events on the square.

As a planner of downtown events I know the warm feeling festival guests get from attending downtown events. I have planned as many as 5 annual downtown events and it would be a shame to hide the beauty of downtown and detour the community fellowship downtown events bring by eliminating them.

The square is the heart of Owen County and belongs to ALL the people.

Do not let the bigotry & biases of a hand full of people destroy the culture & commerce that make Owen County unique. We love this county & our local festivals/events. They bring the community together in shared celebration. Stifling that would be a detriment to all of the efforts that have brought life back to our downtown.

Spencer Pride is the most vibrant and enjoyable pride festival in the state! Small town festivals are the best!

These festivals are vital to Spencer and people love them on the square so let them continue as the people want.

ALL festivals should be held with the courthouse square at the heart. It is public land.

To not continue festivals based on the misguided attempts of a few is ridiculous. I come from Indy to attend your festivals, including Spencer Pride. All of the festivals bring the town and greater community together to celebrate while also raising revenue for the town and local businesses.

I love the festivals in downtown Spencer. It seems that the festivals that are held at the fair grounds lack the warmth and community engagement. Besides having festivals downtown, a concerted effort needs to be made to get businesses into the vacant buildings and giving a facelift to any of the buildings that need it.

What could a small town possibly do to bring income into the community without their festivals and other community activities.

The very center of town is the heart of our community and should be respected and shared by that community. Otherwise we will be the ghost town that we were so close to becoming just a few years ago!

Please keep all festivals downtown. I am a straight white old female from a neighboring county and enjoy Spencer Pride and attend almost always your downtown festivals.
