One of the reasons we moved to Spencer was because of the small town feel. Festivals around the courthouse are a huge part of that!

Events on the Courthouse Square bring positive attention to Spencer and Owen County. We should be striving to facilitate such events not make it more difficult.

Certain Spencer and Owen County citizens are tirelessly working to promote and improve the economy and vitality to the area. The commissioners should be committed to assist in making this happen.

This is what the heart of a small town should consist of...festivals, parades and gatherings. The fairgrounds should be used for the sole purpose of the fair. We always want everyone to support small business but at a time when u benefit from this u send them the other direction and away from the square. We need this to stay in the heart of downtown, where it should be.

A thinly veiled attempt at restricting the freedom of expression by an underrepresented part of the community. The irony should not be lost on these commissioners that if the shoe were on the other foot and their freedoms and liberties were being restricted, they would apoplectic.

I support the freedom of any group who is peaceful to use the courthouse lawn for festivals because they are good for the community and because they create unity.

What a stupid idea, thinking of getting rid of events on the Square. It’s been going on for years and never bothers anyone. Most towns do it, it’s kind of a tradition. And one apple butter was out at the fairgrounds during construction, it sucked, plain and simple.
Please keep these events
