Having events on the square in downtown Spencer is what brought me to Spencer in the first place. I've since returned a number of times since.

I love the festivals on the square. The space is right, and it gives a beautiful setting you don’t get in a fairground. Let the festivals stay!

So impressed with the growing arts and culture in Spencer, very appealing for me to want to travel there. Love Juniper Gallery and The Tivolu.

All festivals SHOULD be held on and at the hub of all Owen County and Spencer activities...the Courthouse lawn! It’s unfortunate that the Apple Butter Festival has moved to another location already, but but I hope that they come back in the future to where they belong while all other festivals and events thrive on the lawn at the Courthouse.

More small town communities would benefit greatly if they could achieve what Spencer has done. Hats off to all the hard working folks!

I'm hoping the commissionerbwill do the right thing and keep our festivals in the court house lawn . Our little community needs these festivals in the heart of Spencer not just so people from out of town can see how beautiful it is but that they also see all the amazing businesses that are downtown and was hope they will want to come back more and more for years to come. I support Spencer in this petition.

If we loose the festavils and special events on the square. We loose everything we have worked for for the last 15+ years.

I specifically visit Spencer to enjoy the various festivals, for example Spencer Pride, that the county has around the courthouse. The courthouse is a wonderful place to hold these festivals because the venue supports the American values of freedom, liberty, and equality.

I located Juniper Art Gallery on the Spencer Courthouse Square precisely because of the presence of Spencer Pride and the hard work of Spencer Main Street. When I bought my first home in Owen County back in the 1990's, the courthouse square was boarded up and the Tivoli was crumbling. I have been thrilled to see the core of town come back to life and I have invested my time and money in helping to make the square a destination for tourism and the arts. Events should happen in the center of town (why it's called a "town center!"). Bring back Apple Butter, bring back Farm to Table, bring back the Farmer's Market, and for goodnesss sake don't mess with the very most successful event in Owen County, Spencer Pride!

How best to showcase the community than to allow festivals to be held on the courthouse lawn.

This festival brings people from all over to spencers square, if you get rid of this festival you can expect the economy of the square to be effected. This festival is family friendly and inclusive to everyone. I have brought straight friends with me, and there are always kids there and they are never in danger. Please do not believe these lies being spread about the festival, I come every year and have never seen anything inappropriate.

As a tax paying resident of Owen County, I 100% believe that our community benefits from the festivals, all the festivals, that have happened on our courthouse square. I concur that a committee should be created to design a process, ensuring that our courthouse and it's property is not used at a financial loss to the tax payers. The committee should be a diverse group that is open minded and is not limiting use for any other reason then the group not accepting the obligations of a contract to use Owen County Courthouse facility and/or property. Owen County residents deserve to be represented by our elected officials with professionalism and positive growth minded for the betterment of Owen County.

The friendly response I received from shop and restaurant owners while I was on my way from / to pride in all my pride gear has transformed my view of spencer. Now, actually stop at local restaurants when driving from Bloomington to Terre Haute I stead if driving through. I have also visited the town after visits to the state park. These are things I didn't do before pride. I am grateful to spencer for being a welcoming place for visitors, including like me.

The town has worked so hard to make downtown beautiful, a place where people want to go. It would be an shame for all of that hard work to go to waste

I live inBloomington and have been attending events on the Spencer Square for years. The community feel, charm and access to shops and restaurants increases the value of this experience. Should these events be moved to other locations I would not be interested in attending or highly recommending tenement to friends and family. You have a wonderful opportunity to support the downtown heart of your community by continuing to use the courthouse and immediate downtown to centrally locate events.

I come to Spencer at least once a year for Pride. I’ve learned about so many local shops and craft businesses by attending Pride and To me it is the premier event Spencer. It’s the best Pride in Indiana! Don’t take this away!
