We, the undersigned, are concerned for the cleanliness of the Douglas Park Community Centre gymnasium, the mats and all of the toys at the Monday/Wednesday/Friday drop-in for Babies/Toddlers. We have noticed that the cleanliness of the toys are at an unacceptable level and have been "filthy" for at least a year. This lack of cleanliness is unsanitary and promotes poor health. The new Sunset Community Centre, on Main, seems to be turning a few heads with their $2.50 drop-in charge and pristine toys. The Roundhouse, downtown, also seems favoured by some families in this neighbourhood. We request that the community centre take responsibility for the well being of the children in our community. We ask that this matter be addressed and that we be updated about the steps being taken to rectify the situation and ensure that an appropriate level of maintenance be continued going forward.
