We believe that in order to become a more environmentally-friendly society, we must start small. Just like the popular slogan, \"Think Globally, Act Locally\", even our smallest actions can have great and long-lasting effects. One such action here in our community of SUNY Geneseo that we believe should see greater use is double-sided printing. Too often we see paper being wasted on large documents in various areas on campus, particularly in Milne Library. In response, we would like to see the following actions taken: 1: Primarily, we would like to see INCENTIVES for taking the environmentally-friendly activity of double-sided printing. A discount for printing double-sided would greatly encourage this paper-conscious act. 2: Secondly, provide greater notification of double-sided printing through various means. Often large documents (some near fifty pages in length) are printed from E-Res. We would like to see some disclaimer regarding the double-sided printing option. 3: In addition, explore possibilities of making certain options default, such as making powerpoint slides or other formats automatically double-sided. We the undersigned would like to see double-sided printing find increased usage on campus. It is one small step in many towards a better, greener campus!

MAKE IT DEFAULT. Nobody wants a 50 page single sided handout anyway.

Yes pls. My student account balance is always empty by midterms and this would save so much money.

Good idea. Even a small discount would make people think twice before hitting print.

Literally just saw a whole stack of single sided slides in the trash. Why is this not a thing yet.

The amount of paper people just toss in the recycling bin at the library is insane. Should be the default setting anyway.
