Buffalo is a blue collar town where people work late in in many different industries. Adults should be able to have a drink after work. This is some nanny state BS.

This is literally for no reason... people will be out of jobs!!! small business owners will go out of business.... this is completely against what Buffalo, NY is finally trying to do; to become the sweetest Metropolitan city it once was.... WE are Finally getting the waterfront built up and the medical campuses are growing... Also, we have an Enormous community of Artists, Musicians, & Performers who MAKE THEIR Living at places like this.... This is a sad state when we've progressed so far as a city, and to propose that we REGRESS is disgusting on Chris Jacobs part.
he's a real estate agent & all about the real estate business doing well, so why doesn't his care and concern go towards the small business owners of bars/restaurants?

This is how I make my living. Bars don't have to stay open until 4am. If they want to close early they can. Let the rest of us stay open so we can make money.

Closing down at 2am is taking away 2hrs of pay/tips away from bartenders, servers, bar-backs, dj's, photographers...pssh even the cab drivers! And most of all, the money that the bar/club/restaurant is bringing in to sustain the place to begin with! And in Buffalo, that is ALOT of money lost for 2hrs. I think the MOST money is actually made in the last 2hrs or so. The 1:30am-330am time frame is the heat of the night...party or no party.
Buffalo staying open until 4am is one of the many reasons Buffalo is unique. I truly feel like there's more realistic Cons to shutting down at 4am than there are whatever "Pros" that are trying to work there way into existence.

There is no reason why buffalo bars need to close at 2 am... That's what makes this city special! It supports the area. It should be the bars choice to close early if they want to, not a demand

The whole resurgence is built around alchol, somebody must benefit somewhere from keeping Buffalo from a bounce back, and thats whos behind this. Badically whatever business owner is contributing to their campain. Bunch of fools to even consider this.

I don't believe that changing the closing time of bars will reduce drunk driving or drunken behavior. People are still going to drink just as much and leave the bars just as drunk.

Closing times should be up to each individual bar owner. Who's to say bars shouldn't be 24 hour establishments if that's what a tax paying business owner wants? Chris Jacobs should worry about his responsibilities as County Clerk and not worry about legislative action all so he can set himself up to run for County Executive in 4 years. Do the job you were elected and are being paid to do.

The 4am closing time not only makes Buffalo unique, as a city, but allows for local establishments to create a unique dining and entertainment experience. The solution to drunk driving is not moving the "last call" time to 2pm. Cities with 2am last calls still experience issues related to drunk driving. The solution, instead, is investing in more accessible forms of transportation throughout the city of Buffalo and the surrounding areas. Why does the subway stop running at midnight? Why are lift sharing services like Uber and Lyft still banned? Why don't Metro busses run through downtown on weekend nights?
A lack of a nighttime, easily accessed public transportation system is what makes Buffalo less safe than similar cities. THIS is the issue that needs to be addressed - NOT last call.

Nothing more I can say but this is the dumbest idea for a town that is trying to bring business to the area.

Why don't you tell businesses they need to be closed on thanksgiving or christmas and other holidays instead?
