Don't roll back the closing time for bars & restaurants

I work in the industry and rely on a packed bar to pay for my bills. Read the statistics quoted that show literally no need to change closing time. Find me statistics that warrant a change, because I have not seen any whatsoever. Why not support lyft or uber instead? Those are solutions to drunk driving not changing bar times.

Bad idea that penalizes working people on the afternoon shift (3:00 pm - 12:00 am).

Step in my shoes, then close everything early! What if we were to close down happy hour, so that people would go right home from there 9-5 jobs, see how that would go over.

Keep it at 4am!

Please do not ruin people's livelihood by passing this ridiculous proposal. Let us keep our hours the way we are and focus on some actual issues in this city!

As a server I don't get out of work most nights until 12, I usually catch up with friends downtown around 1 which would leave me roughly 45 minutes...people like me would not travel downtown anymore because it wouldn't be worth the time. Think of all the people in their early 20s who are working these late night jobs who still like to spend time with friends and grab a drink after work.

As a former bartender, I support the bar and restaurant industry and oppose this change. Cities with a 2 am cutoff time see patrons who drink more alcohol in a shorter amount of time, which increases the number of "unruly" patrons. If this decision is meant to decrease DWIs, you are moving in the opposite direction.

I love being able to go out after work, and cooing at 2am instead of 4am means I'm less inclined to go downtown. Taxis, bars, clubs and late night restaurants will lose money because of this.

Keep the bars open and actually read the statistics on DWIs and tourism. If bars stay open until 4 it's because they want to stay open that late. Why are we not working on real issues?

Keep Bars open until 4am. It's our heritage and legacy. Makes me proud to be from Buffalo, NY.

This 2am closing time does nothing to help the community and will do nothing but hurt it. Local business will be losing revenue, and not just bars either. All the local restaurants that are open late will lose business. Then there are the employees who will lose money which would potentially go back into the community. If they're doing this to "decrease violence", as I've heard, this will just make the violence occur earlier. The type of people who would start fights will start them no matter what time.

Buffalo is on an upswing. Why get in the way of growth.

The bars need to stay open until four. It's unfortunate that people are sensitive and scared, but there is nothing wrong with a four am closing time. Business is better, and like the article states an uber would help as well. Four am is what distances us form the wannabe tough states (for example, Texas).

This is only going to kill smaller businesses that stay open late and cut the hours of many people. That seems like a bad idea.
