Known research has pointed to burn out of healthcare workers where there are so few working in a community. Cutting back on midwifery services is not helping the cause of living in a good way? Most agree that keeping birth and additional midwives in a community is. Please do not limit midwives in Attawapiskat!

The midwives in Attawapiskat provide a vital function to the people who wish to birth in the community. Limiting their function in the community would be a huge mistake.

Fully support family’s and women’s right to give birth how they want, where they want. Denying women proper midwifery care is potentially harmful. Having just had my first child, with care from midwives, I can’t imagine being denied the ability to have our midwives deliver our baby at the hospital.

Our children need to be born at home. The women and family are there to support the mother and baby. The men are involved. This is necessary for our communities to heal!!
