Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Kristin & I'm starting this petition because of my mother. My mother has been suffering with depression, anxiety, panic attacks from childhood until adulthood and still is suffering. My mother went through physical pain in her knees as she had R.A. in her knees and had her knees fully replaced between 2 years ago 2012 and just this year of 2014. My mother also has been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease & also looking into possible hip surgery. My mother has applied for disability benefits since 2008 and has been denied each time. She struggles to get around by walking, motivation, climbing stairs. She has to use a power motored scooter while in stores because she cannot walk too long along with needing to use a forearm crutch to help her walk and that's not enough for support. Now, I am disgusted with Social Security because they denied her because of how much my Father makes and they clarified that he makes over the income limits and they also included his overtime that he rarely does. My Mother & Father struggle financially day to day even with his income due to rent/medications/car payments/food/electric. My Mother isn't looking for an easy way out and easy money. She's looking for support money to help HER survive. You have millions of people on Disability with Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Physical Disabilities.. Now, why don't they classify my Mother with a Physical Disability OR look at her with her Depression/Anxiety/Panic Attacks? I'm so sick of everyone getting on Disability as if it's nothing. There are more people in this world who REALLY need the income to survive. Regardless if my Father doesn't meet the income requirements my mother has a Disability too. So, I'm asking everyone all around the world to sign this petition to agree that my Mother should be able to receive benefits just as well as anyone else.
