The demolition plans for the Doak House barn are officially cancelled. Thank you for signing and holding the line to protect our heritage. Keep an eye on our community board for future updates on preserving the site.
Please help the village of Doaktown fight for their beloved heritage site the barn of the Doak house. As some of us are just discovering there is a plan to tear down the old barn, which would be devastating for the community as our community was named after the site and is our proud heritage. For anyone who wishes to be apart of saving history please sign this petition to get your voice heard.
The feedback from our village confirms that this barn is the cornerstone of our history. Post this petition on your Facebook page today so our neighbors know the demolition plans. We need you to email your local representatives right now to demand a stay on the destruction.

Doaktown and the surrounding upper miramichi should do what they can to keep this. These old places are becoming more rare and it is a great piece of NB history! There would be big regret if it is destroyed. Keep it!

If there are no gov't monies available to repair this structure, people need to start a fundraiser. For such a worthwhile project, it wouldn't take long to raise the necessary funds. Shame on the gov't for wanting to destroy this piece of history.

This is not only a part of our history but a major part of our village! When looking at the village from many places this barn is the most visible building in Doaktown!

I grew up there all my life and always remember going there in the summer to see the animals and whatever activities that hey may have going on. I have also taken two of my children there to enjoy as well. This should not be torn down.

As a previous visitor to the Doak Site when they were putting the new foundation on the barn, There was a lot of pride in the Doak Historic Site. From what I could tell it needed a roof. Why tear down such an important part of this historic site, why not repair the roof

A very important part of our history.
Please keep this historical site open. We want to be able to look at this historical site and tell others what it is about, not tell others, this use to be.

We love the Doak House! It would be such a loss if they closed it or tore it down.
