Take a look at the Tukxi website, Dennis Spacey who operates his Callessino in Lyme Regis may be able to offer some advice.

A precedent for this has already been set as there have been private hire/taxi licences for this type of vehicle granted by Brighton, Lyme Regis ( see Tukxi on u-tube ) and Portsmouth councils. But be careful what you wish for as the Taxi company that applied for the licence in Portsmouth found the insurance costs too prohibitive to take up the option.

I think the Calessinos are a great idea for the Waterfront and will prove to be an unusual and appealing tourist attraction. My kids loved the idea too!

It would be a great addition to the waterfront! Safer than the the drivers who frequent the waterfront!

Go on IBC - it will help bridge the gap from the Town to the waterfront.

I think this service would be a great asset to our waterfront. I see no reason why this type of vehicle wouldn't be licences to use the 'public road' on the waterfront in the same manner as it can on any other public road.

This is a great idea. I have walked along the water front before. In appalling weather. These would make a huge difference to the waterfront. Good luck hope it becomes a permanent thing

Very inconsistent application of permissible use. It's not as if anyone's going to drive these at ramming speed... (Less bother than the motability drivers who drive along like Jensen Button...) The businesses want them along the waterfront; tourists would enjoy them, they could be a significant draw in an unfinished area of the town -- and so thus make economic sense for the area and for IBC. Go for it, set strict criteria for use, speed limits etc, but don't say NO without a logical argument. Can't see any logic yet.

I absolutely believe that these will enhance the area. I don't think for a second that people use paid taxis to get from one end of the waterfront but I think these would be used because they're aesthetically pleasing and novel.

these a not being used as fare paying cabs so in my opinion should be exempted from cab regulations the water front is in dire need of attracting visitors this can only help achieve this
