I graduated from Eastern Tech in 2009, graduated from the University of Delaware in 2012, and in May I will graduate from the University of Maryland School of Law. I have accomplished so much because of the foundation I developed at Eastern Tech. Why change a winning formula?

The multimedia program prepared me for the journalism school at the University of Maryland!

Attending ETHS and being a part of the Allied Health Program is the reason I am where I am today. ETHS gave me the opportunity to explore various health care areas. When I attended ETHS the allied health program was not even as established as it is today (CNA and pharmacy tech opportunities), but it still lead me in the right direction. The Allied Health program gave me an opportunity to be selected to observe Franklin Square Hospital’s PT department my junior year, and I left that observation saying— “this is what I want to do in my future.” Seven years later and I am now in my last few months of Physical Therapy School. While attending ETHS I was able to receive one of the best educations— and enjoy going to school each day because the “tech” programs are what kept me even more interested in school, not the basic classes that every other school has.

Eastern Tech is a great school known across the country! If you take away the magnet program you take away the opportunity for hundreds of children in the future to get an excellent college ready education.

god forbid a school can create a unique curriculum and achieve marginal academic success without aide of the state. Schools like eastern, whos academic flexibility and autonomy have achieved unparalleled success, are going to save the public education system. Meanwhile the school boards and the state of MD, like always, have to interfere with a successful program and ruin it. This situation ultimately shows how the state is inefficient at maintaining successful academic programs and should be addressed by the taxpayers and voters

Do NOT change Eastern Technical High School's Magnet Programs. It is a fine instructional school in which great kids want to be a part of. Change the schools that really need to be changed. Help those schools and teachers first.

As an alumni, from my experience while attending and after leaving Eastern Tech, the magnet programs are what makes Eastern what it is. I have learned so much from being at Eastern Tech. The fact that there were many majors there helped me broaden my knowledge and made a variety of friends. If the magnet programs are taken away, you will never get the same results or even better outcomes than you do now. Taking away what Eastern Tech has amd spread it out to other schools will not make the numbers "equitable". Parents will not change their minds and encourage their children to go to schools that are neither safe nor up to Eastern's Tech standard just because there is a magnet program there. Numbers do not prove everything.

The school is a big foundation for a lot of children. This school is needed to be continued to run this program. A lot of the children need this hands on to plan the their future.

this school is great for kids from all over different areas. do not restrict this school from the great academically inclined children that attend it or the great athletes who play for this school have played for this school and want to play for this school
