Instead of taking away the magnets in ET, give more to other schools so more studenst can choose what they aspire to be.

The public forum offered by BCPS to discuss concerns regarding the magnet task force recommendations and the potential change in policies was not substantive and had the appearance of a ploy designed to placate the masses, suppress potential dissent and create a facade of openness.

I think Balto. Co. should look at schools loike Poly and City that have existed as "Magnet " schools for over 100 years. There would never be any talk of changing them. My grandson is being pushed to an education he could not get anywhere else in the County.

Eastern Tech has allowed me to have a great freshman year! It shouldn't be changed at all.

Save both of my daughters high school. The magnet programs there are very important to this community and to the rest of society. They prepare our kids, they are our future. Keep them ready for the world.

don't change this school, it is just the best, the teachers are great, the students love and the tech programs are not only fun but also really give a lot of insight into the fields we want to go into, changing the school is going to deprive a future class of experiancing something amazing, a school like no other that actually shows you how working in the real world will be like

I ce to this school for what it is and if Dallas Dance is trying to change Eastern Tech, he's trying to fix what isn't broken. I want every kid to know what this school is and how great it is without changing it.

My family has twenty years of attendance at EVT/ Eastern Technical High School. To alter anything at that school is Educational homicide. Who alters a Blue Ribbon award winning school? It truly makes no sense that this conversation is happening. Celebrate succesd don't execute it.

Eastern Tech has been lauded locally and nationally for its success in graduating well prepared students. The magnet nature of its programs certainly contributes to this. However, their success derives from a nuanced process of the synergy created in an "all magnet" program school. It is this "all magnet" aspect that is critical. The influence of interactions between between students in all the career programs in academic, social and athletic contexts that has led to a school that is much greater than the sum of its parts. Before I retired I was the senior highway official at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). In that capacity I hired and employed a staff of engineers, psychologists, investigators and writers whose work was required to be beyond reproach. I have seen the makings of such people at Eastern Tech. My daughter teaches at ET and As a result I have had the opportunity to interact with students in those academic, social and athletic venues I mentioned. I have come away impressed with how these seamless interchanges have raised the academic bar for all. I have also served as a judge for a college scholarship competition at the school in which seniors from each magnet program give a presentation on a topic from their career major. The completion is keen and the depth and quality of work impressive. Eastern Tech is an unqualified success for its academics and its social environment that supports them. BCPS should work to duplicate its success. What BCPS should not do is change Eastern Tech into something less than an "all magnet" school. That would significantly damage the education of all the students and produce less of the type people government and industry want and need. Clone Eastern Tech, but for heaven sake don't do anything to damage a shining star.

This school should benefit all children who desire a career in the areas in which it teaches, not just those in the immediate community.
