We need a Senegalese community center in the DMV!

We always organize our events (marriage, baptism, religious events, birthdays, etc...) to different communities. We have nothing that belong to our fast-growing Senegalese community in the DMV unlike the Ethiopians, the Indians, the Chinese communities, etc... We have nothing close by and we always end up taking our kids to different communities for fun, safe indoor activities, and thus taking our money elsewhere. Our religious groups are trying to raise money to build their own mosques for prayers which is good, but this community center will be different because it will be multi purposed and would belong to ALL Senegalese regardless of religion, creed, ethnicity, gender, age, etc... In doing so, we emphatically and unequivocally endorse the concept of "non-discrimination". Imagine a place where we can have our own fitness center, classes, Bibliotheque, banquet and meeting rooms, place to pray for Eid, to have church services, to have childcare, play indoor playground, take our kids and go swimming, play basketball, etc... all in the same building under one roof!

Not only would this bring the Senegalese community of the DMV together, but it would also create more jobs, it would be an awesome revenue bringing people into OUR community, thus creating more business for our folks. Our kids are growing, and they are not going back to live in Senegal. That is a reality! It is our duty, and it is time that we can come together and build an edifice that we can all be proud of and leave a legacy for our kids something that they can identify themselves with.

NOW is our opportunity to make it happen! Let's come together and do it! Please voice your support and whether or not you pledge to financially contribute in this endeavor!
