I will never ever ever consider moving to Detroit Lakes now that their most powerful people are not about supporting the people. I am totally disgusted. This is just a technicality. Veterans are entitled citizens. Business owners and financially powerful people are not.

Leave the Veteran and the senior citizen alone. Allow them to live in peace which is all any of us can dream of. Why on earth do people have to be hateful when it will take so very little to bring this property up to code. Give them a chance. Don't think of it as just some legality, think of the people, think of them as your mother or grandmother... think of them as the man who gave his all for all of us during the Vietnam war. Haven't the veterans of our great nation suffered enough? Grandfather in the home and let them be.

City Council should be ashamed of themselves.

If we as townspeople of Detroit Lakes don't have the whole story as to why this is happening. Please I think we have the right to know!

At least grandfather it in for another year and allow them that year to make the fixes needed. Have a heart!

I come from a long line of military right now my son is serving and so is my nephew and Grandson just got out. What happened to helping each other. What happed to having your brother and sisters back. What about fighting for our country and some giving the ultimate sacrifice. What about PTSD !!! What about helping your fellow man. What about freedom is not free. These people sacrificed so much to get so little in return. This is a disgrace to our country and those who are involved. Shame on you. I would like to see some of you walk in those combat boots for awhile most of you would be whiners. This place needs to stay and so does he and his family. Plus if you know anything those dogs are support dogs they need them to survive. Where has our humanity went. I will pray for this family as it seems some with deep pockets have forgotten what they did and what they stand for FREEDOM !!!!

I feel that Detroit Lakes needs a new city council and start showing the Vetrans with respect because of them we have the things we have... they served so you didnt have to go with out... He shouldn't not have to worry about his living situation or anything we own them everything... Detroit lakes you disgust me!!!!!
