So this is how DL takes care of their Vets. SHAME ON YOU. This dear man has fought for you & you can't care for him?? It needs to be grandfathered in. Where are your hearts?

This is not right. If this place has been a rental all this time. It should be grandfathered in.

This property and rental should be grandfathered in and be given a year to bring it up to code. For a city that thrives in hospitality and friendliness, I am disappointed. As a consumer and future lake home buyer, I will not spend a dollar in Detroit Lakes if this decision is not reversed.

It is hard to know how much of the story is accurate, however, nothing I have read seems to indicate that the city council needed to take such action. Is this discrimination or absence of information?

The City Council and complaining neighbors cannot be this heartless. Mr. Fraser fought for the freedoms you now enjoy. And you want to take his home?

Now the council is saying he has to prove it was a rental prior to 1968 and that is the main issue, oh and the inspection that found the minimal violations was prompted by a complaint...smh. My family has lived in that town for 50+ yrs, disgraceful imo

From what I have read, this place has already been grandfathered in as a rental place, since it had been one since before the 1968 ordnance change and the city council was wrong to ignore that.

Let him stay in the home with his dog and let the owner continue to be able to rent !!! Y'all are pathetic and sick to even think about allowing this removal !!! Can not believe this is DL that we love so much
