In March 2010 my father, Derek Howard, passed away. He was buried in Hindringham Churchyard in April 2010. In May 2010, regulations changed (full information in links - see point 20). Prior to this, many pictures within reason were permitted. Now you are only allowed religious icons, or if the passed served the Army/Navy, their regiment/squadron logo is permitted with the MOD's permission.
As many will know who knew my father, he passionately supported speedway throughout his life; it was an important part of who he was. We proposed this design, and have had it refused: 
I wrote to the Chancellor explaining the circumstances and my fathers passion for the sport and it was refused, despite the support of Hindringham's Vicar & Churchwardens. We are now appealing officially at additional cost. I hope this petition may show the support we have. Please feel free to pass this on, all support is much appreciated. We hope it will make a difference.
