These kids need this. Any other city this size in Europe has public realm skateparks. In the city centre where everyone can use them, proper health and safety all covered. I would strongly urge council to consider responding positively to this proposal and listen to our young people, who are the future stewards of our city and our region.

My son is an avid skateboarder and has been verbally abused by neighbours who find the moves he does in his skateboard really annoying! It would be great if he had somewhere to go without disturbing others

Way overdue for Derry. (All we had in my day was lowrys lane) but seriously this would be a great resource for kids to get them outside and unplug from technology!

It makes more sense to give these kids a safe place to skate rather than have them find random areas throughout the city that could put them in harm's way, their are plenty of unused areas use could build a skate park

Somewhere for skaters, rollerbladers, bmxers and scooterers can practise their skills will benefit Derry immensely and can (if managed effectively) attract international talent through completions and demos. Hosting these sorts of events would bring tourism to the city from all over Ireland, with kids and their parents travelling to see their skate and BMX heroes. .
