Petition To Get More Acknowledgement Support From The County Drug And Alcohol Action Team. (Derbyshire DAAT)
The Free From Addiction Project and supporters are all in agreement that the county DAAT (Derbyshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team) are not acknowledging/supporting the great work that we are doing and the continuous achievements that are being made, despite all our hardest efforts.
Even though two appointments have been made with the Commissioning Manager Roger Hardy to come to the group he has cancelled twice without any real explanation. The group then sent a letter to Roger early September 2011 with approx 12-15 signatures on asking him to attend the group and again have heard absolutely nothing. The group as a whole seems to be getting acknowledged/supported from just about everywhere else.
The Free From Addiction Project has even been noted in the USA but not by our local DAAT. The Recovery Field has also acknowledged our work yet our local commissioners overlook us !
This petition is to get greater acknowledgement/support from the above mentioned place, proper acknowledgement/support to us from Derbyshire DAAT could consist of some of the following
*More places signposting to the group. *Access to funding streams for group activities etc.
*Input from a peer to peer prospective on local commissioning boards.
*More links in with Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership.
*The group being mentioned and properly publicised in various alcohol related publications.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stood behind this project when it felt like we were being ignored by those in charge. This shows that the work we are putting in has real value to our community. Thank you for making sure we are finally impossible to overlook.

The work this project does is amazing. Why ignore them when they are getting results? Typical council rubbish.
Need more support for groups like this. They are actually making a change unlike the DAAT.
everyone else sees the value in this work except the people who matter. please start paying attention.
Ridiculous that they wont even show up. Roger needs to do his job and listen to the people actually helping in the community.
ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. Stop ignoring the people on the ground making real progress.
