In regards to James Alexander Love, inmate #00028450 and his parole hearing on April 8, 2026, my signature on this petition is to ask that you deny his parole.
Love was convicted of murder in 2nd degree and sentenced to 300 years in person (150 yrs for each murder) for the killing of Sheila Curtright (14) and Jeffrey Berger (2) on New Years Eve 1975, two innocent children's lives cut short because of James Alexander Love.
Instead of celebrating milestones over the last 51 years, these families have had to recount the horrible memories of this night every 4 years when Love comes up for parole. Over the years the mothers were forced to pass along to the horrific story, memories and responsibility to their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family members to continue to be the voices for Shelia & Jeffery, in order to keep this killer behind bars.
Love's parole hearing is on April 8, 202 and I ask you to please deny his parole. Allow the Berger & Curtright families to have closure, mourn, move forward, and stop having to suffer this horrendous pain. Jeffrey & Sheila were lost at a very young age all because of this man, don't make the decision to ruin more lives by his release.
No family should ever have to experience the loss of a child, let alone experience the pain of murder and then fighting for your loved ones to keep their killer behind bars.

He took these 2 from our lives too early. The devastation it brought to both families. I still remember my father getting the phone call from his sister telling him her only daughter had been murdered.
Only a monster can look into the eyes of a 2 year old and murder him, along with the 14 year old girl. He was sentenced to 300 years, he should never be up for parole. How this is possible with that type of sentence is mind boggling. Please deny his release and let justice be served.
This crime affected our entire community! I went to school with Sheila’s older brother and can’t imagine his pain then and the reminders at every parole hearing. Love was tried, convicted and sentenced....he should be required to serve his entire time without parole!!
Dear Parole Chair, I am writing to ask that a proposed parole of James Alexander Love NOT be granted. His heinous of murder of two precious children demand he be held in prison for life. It is the responsibility of our justice system to protect its citizens. Respectfully, Michaela Pearce
The anguish this family has to go through every four years during these parole hearings is already too much; the agony of seeing their family's killer freed is unthinkable. Please do not consider parole.

I was only 9 years old when this happened to my 1st cousin Shelia and this young boy.This man should never be out in society ever for what he done. He took the life’s of two young children in a very brutal way, they never got to enjoy life or society and neither should this monster of a man.
