On April 17, 1996, Frederick Carter and his accomplice took the life of Lawrence Leon during the armed robbery of his Birmingham, Alabama restaurant. Carter, the one who shot and murdered Mr. Leon, already had a long criminal record. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, which allows him to be considered for parole. His accomplice was convicted of Capital Murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Mr. Leon, a life-long Birmingham resident and popular business man, was active in his community and church. He was a loving husband to Joann; father to Fran, Phil and Rosie; and devoted grandfather of six. Please help our family and friends voice the outrage against the consideration of parole for Frederick Carter, a menace to society, who committed this violent crime. Please do not grant parole for Frederick Carter. His murder conviction and his long criminal record prove that he should not be allowed to be free in society. Mr. Leon's life is gone, and Frederick Carter's punishment should continue.
The Leon family was forever changed the day Mr. Leon was brutally murdered. They were a close-knit Italian-America family. Please respect this family by denying this murderer parole.
He does not deserve to be free! He took the life of a very special father whom was doing what he loved to support his family. He needs to stay incarcerated for the rest of his miserable life.
Don’t even consider him for parole! He is a ruthless killer murdered my Uncle Lawrence in cold blood! My Uncle pleaded for his life and this murder just laughed and pulled the trigger!
You cannot give this family back their loved one. Please consider that rewarding a duly convicted man his freedom violates what little peace the justice system ever offered to begin with. Thankyou.
