They are an important part of Deep Purple, and since the band now is going to be inducted, so should present members of it too, of course.
These brilliant musicians need to be credited for their long term efforts keeping the rock'n roll alive, as well as keeping it from stagnating. Their musical excellence keeps music constantly evolving and progressing.
The musical history of rock'n roll wouldn't be complete if they weren't recognized.

Been a purple fan since their beginning. All should be inducted, even the temperamental blackmore. And airey and morse,without them there might not be a deep purple.
These 2 Long time Members of the Band are responsible for breathing new life into the Band,and deserve a spot in the Hall of Fame,as much as anyone!!!
Why wouldn't all members past and present that have featured on albums be inducted? Why would you include Rod Evand but not Nick Simper? Makes no sense at all.
If not for Steve Morse joining Deep Purple, I would be unaware of much of their work prior to his joining. And without Don Airey, who would play keyboards at a DP RRHOF induction?
They just HAVE TO be included. They are so important and such an important part of Deep Purple as Ritchie or Jon. Excluding them is to deny an important part of Deep Purple's history.

It’s only fair for all in the band(deep purple) be inducted.....been a fan since living in LA in the 70’s a great possibility knowing someone in the band’ before their stardom......

Steve Morse was GP guitarist of the year for 5 years - that alone should qualify him. Also lead guitarist for DP for the last 20. Steve is name-checked as an influence by many guitarists to this day.
