Demand Justice for Jonathan Hoang: Treat His Disappearance as a Crime
On March 30, 2025, 21-year-old Jonathan Hoang—an autistic young man from Arlington, WA—vanished under highly suspicious circumstances. His disappearance has devastated his family, friends, and community; yet, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) continues to treat his case with a level of inaction that is both unacceptable and dangerous.
We demand that the SCSO immediately recognize Jonathan Hoang's disappearance as a potential crime or kidnapping. Time is critical in missing persons cases, especially when foul play is suspected and when the individual is a vulnerable adult.
Further, we call for either:
- The formation of an interagency task force including the Washington State Patrol and the FBI to take over and aggressively pursue all leads; or
- The SCSO to relinquish jurisdiction to agencies better equipped and willing to treat this case with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.
Jonathan and his family deserve a real investigation. Every hour matters. We cannot allow bureaucratic delays and jurisdictional pride to cost Jonathan his chance at being found.

Special needs young adults is attending high school because he is like a child. Search for him as you would a young child. He couldn't leave and function by himself. He was taken or tricked into going.
My God help this family please. We as parents of young adults with autism, we know our children they have strict routines,
Treat Jonathan's suspicious disappearance with the gravity it deserves! Although 21, he not a functional adult & therefore a vulnerable missing person. Follow all leads & take whatever steps necessary to find him!
The community demands that Jonathan’s be treated as a crime, that that SCSO account for their botched mishandling of his case. We demand you do Better, that you allow additional agencies to investigate where you have epically failed! Jonathan deserves no lead to be ignored.
This is negligence, to not have been investigating this as at least suspicious from the start, and each day it becomes more willful. This needs to be taken seriously.

It's deeply concerning that SCSO is not only refusing to investigate this abduction, but obstructing the family's efforts to find Jonathan. Please relinquish jurisdiction to agencies who will treat it with the seriousness and urgency that it deserves.
