Protect our children NOW!

Drivers regularly speed over 2x posted speed limit with no patrol in Hillcrest & Arrowhead, so no consequences. Very dangerous area. My family had two vehicles totaled by extreme speed red light runners in the Arrowhead and Hillcrest areas near Mt Ridge in the past two years. We witness dangerous drivers in school zones daily and all along 67th. I have contacted PD and city to no avail. Was told by city they will not install speed cushions along Hillcrest Rd, where people drive 40 to 50 mph and tailgate in a 25 zone every day. Last speed patrol I noticed was 6 months ago. Drivers ignore flashing red speed alert displays. Senseless drivers do not care because there are zero consequences so it’s very sad that another student was hit. Unfortunately unless there are personal consequences, by way of increased enforcement for bad drivers, they will not change. Students are nervous to walk or ride to school because of the legitimate risks.

Enforce NO TURN ON RED within 1 mile of school zones. Increase presence of modern lighted signage, high visibility paint in all crosswalks, increased traffic control with 3x fines for speed violations and red light running.

And please teach kids to cross roads safely… to use the crosswalks.

Our kids deserve better. They deserve to arrive to school and back home safely everyday.

67th Ave is like a freeway. Need some safety for the kids.

There is a large problem with kids trying to race across 67th avenue @ Patrick Lane outside of the crosswalk and while the light is green, they try to beat the cars driving down 67th ave

This needs immediate attention and action by the school

This shouldn’t even have to be a petition, do the right thing and keep our kids safe!!

67 is absolutely unsafe for anyone trying to cross. Something needs done to keep students safe immediately! I drive this road 4 times or more a day or more and it’s scary with cars flying. Add some flashing street crossing lights at all enter sections
