Please fight for this. I've been a resident of Morgantown 7 years now. Each year it gets a little worse. For the entire city of Morgantown there were only 6 trucks out today.

Yes, we need the roads repaired. Other states keep up with repairs and maintenance, it is time for West Virginia to do the same.

Just because it's cheaper to do work elsewhere doesn't mean the work required in Monongalia County is as, if not more, to important to the state. Take your thumbs of the scales.

A portion of our taxes should be going to the maintenance and repair of our roads, that is what taxes are for. The condition of our roads is inexcusable.

Having grown up in West Virginia, in Hancock County, I saw every year the difference between the attention that West Virginia gives to its roads versus Pennsylvania. Ours were always significantly worse than our neighboring state’s. That being said, little old Hancock County puts Monongalia County’s attention to roads to shame. I am disgusted and embarrassed at the condition of our roads in Mon County on a regular basis from ever present potholes to poor pretreatment and treatment of snow and ice in winter. It is disgusting, embarrassing, that a County such as ours, which provides so much revenue, employment, and interstate traffic can continuously have such terrible road conditions on showcase to both our state’s taxpayers, as well as those passing through our state, expecting a safe and accessible route, and those non residents who choose to make West Virginia and Mon County their workplace’s home. To see the disparity of our neighbors’ roads compared to our own is absolutely embarrassing, and something needs to be done. As members of both houses of the legislature came together in the past to petition for this to change with the opposite action of our highest representative and advocate for our residents, our Governor, it shows where his interests lie, and they’re not with us.
I urge you all to sign this petition to advocate for yourselves, and all of us, to solicit action to make our travels and daily commutes safe, in all seasons.

The roads in Mon county have always been neglected during the winter months with the snow fall and during the summer months with the numerous potholes. I know more can be done to improve the conditions of our roads. Thank you Delegate Williams for sponsoring this bill. Now Governor Justice needs to follow through with his promise to improve roads throughout the state and sign the bill.

I moved to WV over 35 years ago from PA. The WV roads have never been properly maintained in the Winter months. It’s pathetic.

Mon County is the economic engine of the state and we fuel the road projects all over then we get left out in the cold literally.

I am a resident of Preston county, but work in and own property in Mon county. We are sick and tired of terrible roads in our area! The DOH must have appropriate staff and resources to do the job that our roads demand. Change the funding formula now for NCWV!

No more excuses! It is WELL past time to fix the problems. I hold the Governor and his leadership team responsible for this. Stop grandstanding and DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE! Come to Morgantown - drive on the roads and listen to the people coming from other areas completely appalled at the situation here. Meanwhile we can’t seem to pay enough in taxes. Unacceptable and infuriating!
