We need a fair and proportionate increase in road funding in Mon County and accountability from the state government regarding funds we have been shorted in the past.

Having improperly maintained roads is a blatant sign of governing incompetence. To make matters worse, we're now literally paying people to come here by and touting Morgantown as one of our flagship cities while many of the main roads through it are some of the most neglected in the state.

Any time any amount of precipitation is expected and temperatures are low, Morgantown residents know to prepare to be trapped on untreated roads for unknown amounts of time. The hours of work lost on these days has to be equivalent to millions of dollars. I frequently regret my decision to move here. Letting people sit trapped for hours on icy roads is embarrassing. Maybe we should start having WVU sporting events at 8:00 AM on weekdays? There might be an attempt to treat the roads then.

Mon country roads are a disgrace. To have the flagship university in Morgantown with thousands of visitors coming into the state, our roads portray a bad portrait of the state of WV. With all of the out of state visitors coming into Morgantown you would think the Governor would want to showcase Morgantown/Mon county.

Upkeep of our roads should not be a political football. It’s obvious as to what is going on. The governor needs to realize that there are citizens of both parties that live here. But it shouldn’t make a difference.

The unmoving gridlock traffic in Morgantown during a snowstorm is unacceptable. Roads should be pretreated and continually taken care of during the storm. The “potholes” in our area roads are an embarrassment.

The roads that we must travel to complete daily duties and live saving jobs put our own lives at risk.
