Plans have been made, Notice is nice if we are forced to vote you out you will have plenty of notice for that.

do not make this change four months away, vacations plans are made and thousands have been spent to rent a home that is none refundable. This decision on our part was made based on your calendar which you put out. How many other families planned vacations will now be affected?

I am ok with starting Aug 17 but not the 24th. My son would have to miss the first week of school.

this. is to early I my self has family vacation planned and it is non refundable. also we are 10 month contract employees and that is only a 9 months of school yes it's 180 days but. somewhere down the road as usual were going to get the short end of the stick and our short ends are Abt running very thin

The proposed changes should be made to the 2016-2016 year. We already have vacation plans for that time period and I don't want my kids to miss the first week of school because we can't reschedule them.

if the change is made, my daughter will miss a crucial band camp and all 4 of my kids will miss the first week of achool. that is wrong on every level. there is really only one answer, plan this for the following year.

I already had plans for early August and it wasn't to begin school on August 4th.

It is too late to implement this calendar for the 2015-2016 school year.

It's too late to implement this change for the upcoming school year. It shows no consideration to parents and teachers who have made plans already.

I too support the change effective for 2016-2017 year. This change should not occur for the 2015-2016 year. It would be of terrible cost to families, who respectfully planned their crucial family bonding times around an official school calendar. It is imperative for a school district to strive for a trusting relationship with the parents of the students in their district. Such a last minute, major calendar change and rushed agenda are hallmarks for ruining trust and confidence in a party that represents public interest.

I agree with the change; however it should start for the 2016-17 school year

Please consider this for the 2016-2017 school year. This is much too late to make this change effective in the 2015/2016 school year. Many families have already planned their summers, and if they cannot change plans, will miss the first weeks of school. This is not in any child's best interest. Though I agree with the changes, the timeline is just bad.

There needs to be more notice to teachers as well as students and their families.
