I will be addressing the board to discuss security issues at the next meeting. I will propose that the community seriously consider hiring a company to do 24 hr security. Currently an outside service stops in a few times a day at Del Sur. Darren asked that I gather names of all neighbors who feel this is important and present with my concerns. I am going to propose one roving, on call security guard during the day and two at night from 10-6. I think with the growth in the community one patrol on EACH side of Babcock/Paseo Del Sur intersection is important. We can self police to some extent with the help of an available point of contact during the day. At night it may be too much territory for one patrol due to the lack of community involvement at those hours. Bottom line is that we need a 24 hr point of CLOSE contact in the community that can respond within minutes to questionable behavior,crime, pool security. By signing this petition, you are stating that a REASONABLE increase is worth added security. The interest I hope this gathers will show the HOA board how important additional security is and then they will bid it out so we all can make an educated decision. By signing this you are NOT approving anything. Only that you think it is a good idea for the cost and benefits to be considered seriously by the board.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by how many neighbors have stepped up to support this idea. It is becoming clear that this is a priority we all share and I feel lucky to be the one helping to organize these thoughts.

Yes to well-trained, on-location security. Yes to cameras, and yes to whatever it takes to allow our children to play SAFELY throughout Del Sur.
This is an ongoing issue at trent park. Nonresidents are using the park and security are turning their heads. We need to actively check IDs
Much needed... particularly given all of the traffic that will be generated by the Target center.
Our neighborhood is getting a reputation as a high-income neighborhood with no security. We're sitting ducks.
There is more crime here in Del Sur than in any place I've lived before. I'm so disappointed in this aspect of our neighborhood. We really need some good surveillance cameras OR roving security in this neighborhood.
Cameras, increased patrols, and potentially a 24-7 security team is needed. This problem will only get worse if not addressed through effective measures.
We are currently wasting over 100k a year on security and they literally cannot catch a baby. Not one person has been brought to justice for pooping in the pool. So, you think we should spend considerably more on worthless security guards who have NO ARRESTING powers, no weapon, nothing...and hope they catch CRIMINALS? That is just insane and absolutely ludicrous. Be smart, don't leave valuables out, cars unlocked etc. don't invite crime into the neighborhood. If you do you are the problem. And last....if you see someone breaking the law, CALL THE POLICE! They can actually do something, not a rental cop.

Im open to increased security in Del Sur, even at a small to moderate HOA increase to me. I'm even more supportive of a gated community. Additionally, think the or of town security is a waste of money as it takes them 45 minutes to arrive and they do not answer the calls. I also feel the diaper police are a waste of money at the pools and this money could be reallocated to better more efficient security.
