We demand Prospect Park Alliance go back to the drawing board regarding their development plans for Prospect Park’s tranquil Vale of Cashmere that include a $20 MILLION COMFORT STATION (bathrooms) to serve an UNWANTED event/party/cafe space for rent, and a noisy, grassy amphitheater. RESTORE THE WOODLANDS!! THAT'S IT!!

The wild life, the birds, and the trees in this quiet secluded part of the park must be protected from the RELENTLESS MONETIZATION of our public green spaces!! We do not want or need another event space that would forever disrupt the sensitive ecosystem and introduce NOISY activity to a restful haven of 150 years.

We demand that Councilwoman Crystal Hudson not play politics and look away, but defend our vital, secluded green space! THE VALE IS NOT FOR SALE!!

The emails I receive from the park planners are starting to feel like template responses meant to wear us down. I am still here and reading every one of your messages about the history of the Vale. We are going to keep insisting on actual protection for these woods instead of more construction.

Reaching this level of support honestly feels exhausting yet necessary because it shows people truly care about what is being lost. The fight to save the Vale is draining but this momentum proves we are not alone in demanding the restoration of our woods.

We live in a concrete jungle surrounded by so many highrises, That are getting higher with each passing year, we need the vast open green space in Brooklyn that The vale of Cashmere offers to be protected. Just like how Central Park is protected in Manhattan.

The Vale of Cashmere is a unique corner of Prospect Park. It is a place of quiet contemplation, where one finds a connection with birds and the surrounding beauty of this special place. The plans put forth by PPA disregard the particular atmosphere of the upper and lower Vale. The plan should be reconsidered and changed to preserve the essence of the Vale.

The Vale has become a nature preserve, an area of seclusion affording environmental and preservation for birds, plants and people seeking solace. We do not need more buildings, amphitheaters, event spaces. Changing the names of the spaces and context of wording is getting ridiculous and feels manipulative. The plan stings of colonization creating a more policable environment to rid the park of undesirables. As we know this area of the park is a have for LGBTQx community. And birds. $20 million for bathrooms?!? No buildings! No concrete! No asphalt! Preserve nature and tranquility we are so desperate for. Olmsted would not approve!!

Oh no, I literally gasped when I saw this. VOC is a beautiful place that's fantastic for birding. Every time I share a photo of it everyone says how fantastic and pretty it looks and wants to know where it is. What a shame that they want to ruin it. Please let it stay a haven for birds and other wildlife.

The Vale of Cashmere needs to be restored to it's former beauty. Building a bathroom and more play spaces for the children in this area is ridiculous. There are plenty of other areas you could use for that. Like the Long Meadow just inside Endale arch. The Vale of Cashmere is an important stop for migratory and nesting birds that needs to be preserved. It is also a place for quiet meditation. A bit of a sanctuary to many of us. Please, please, please reconsider this ghastly reimagining of this space.

The Vale is an oasis and vital to hundreds of birds that stop there during migration. This development will bring noise, garbage and crowds to the area. Can’t the Alliance use funds to maintain the rustic trails and meadows it installed instead of bringing disturbance?

This area is a critical haven for birds along their migratory path and must be protected.

I am a resident living near prospect park. I do not support the construction of new structures in the park. That would be a negligent use of our money and would take away from the natural beauty and serenity of the park.
