The Blacktown City Council no longer acknowledges the Darug people as the traditional owners of the land upon which it sits.
A recent policy decision has suspended the recognitionof the Darug people as the continuing traditional custodians of the land, this has been done without consultation with the Darug community.
This political indecency has outraged many members of the Darug community who are calling for the reversal of this controversial decision by Council.
Please sign, comment and share to raise awareness of this wrong-doing and make Council accountable for their actions byhaving them bemade to reinstate policy which pays due respect to theDarug people as the continuing traditional custodians of the land they sit upon.

This is so wrong in every way. Who are we then. They need to have a little no a lot of respect for us there are Darug people all over Australia now. They are so bloody rude.
The Council has by now re-recognised the Darug people I understand. Has the Darug museum been re-opened yet does anyone know?

I think the Blacktown Counci should reverse it's decision after all the Darug People were residence in this area long before the Blacktown Council
How can they just decide to ignore history like that? It makes me sick. Blacktown was Darug land way before any council buildings went up and it will be long after they are gone.

My ancestor was the wife of Colbee who received land grant from Arthur Phillip this is Darug land
