Tony Abbott thinks that indigenous peoples living in indigenous communities is a 'lifestyle choice'. He also thinks it's a 'lifestyle choice' that we can't afford, so he's removing them - but at at what cost?

"Tony Abbott has backed the West Australian Government's plans to close nearly half of the state's 274 remote communities and said it was not unreasonable if the cost of providing services such as schools, outweighed the benefits.

"What we can't do is endlessly subsidise lifestyle choices if those lifestyle choices are not conducive to the kind of full participation in Australian society that everyone should have," he said." -ABC News

Furthermore, since closing 150+ indigenous communities, many displaced peoples have moved to self established refugee camps in protest - and have been aggressively approached by police, threatened and intimidated to move on. (#matagarup) This is not okay.

Tony Abbott and The West Australian Government feel that closing these communities is in the best interest of Australia and the taxpayer. Sign our petition and send a clear message - Tony Abbott, You do not speak for us.Allow the displaced Australian Indigenous peoples to return to their communities - Wiping out these communities is a form of cultural genocide. We support the funding of these communities and want them to remain a proud part of our countries cultural heritage.

This is their land, current government has no respect or understanding of indigenous community, respect of their land, respect of culture, understanding of their history, what indigenous people bring teach us. I lived in the Territory and worked closely with indigenous communities and they have been the richest cultural years of my life. Time for abbot to go sit in the bush and get intouch with what is real and important in this country

How dare you try to remove Indigenous Australians from the land that is part of them! Have you not learned a thing from our history?
