We the undersigned believe that Dan Ratcliffe deserves to be Education and Welfare Sabbatical Officer for LUSU 2008-2009, and as such should be allowed to resit his 3rd year assessments. He was elected by a large majority of his peers, who clearly believe he is the best individual to represent them. Regardless of his academic successes or failures, he has played a large and consistent role in LUSU and Furness JCR campaigns over his three years. We believe this should be recognised and our choice should be respected by the University. Therefore we urge the University to give Dan every opportunity to complete his studies and take up the position to which we elected him.
