This petition is for the safety of our children. Our goal is to take every precaution to minimize the dangers associated with having open access to the schools on voting days. Giving open access to the school while our children are present opens many dangerous situations from gun violence, human trafficking, child predators and even kidnapping. Every school day all doors are locked during school hours except at drop off when there are multiple staff members at the temporarily unlocked doors and all throughout the designed drop off area. At pick up you must show identification to pick up your child. On voting day doors are unlocked all day with no staff members monitoring. If having open voting is a must in the schools then we need police there to help protect the children. We need to be proactive and not wait until something happens and then react.

I agree that this could potentially be a dangerous situation. My child is my world, our children give our lives purpose. Thanks for this, its a great idea.
This is a very good point. We need to keep our schools safe and keep people out that don’t need to be there.
Wow this very true and eye opening ... I never thought of this issue but this day in time it is very true and I support the fact that this should not take place in schools anywhere.
They should not have these polling places in schools. Thank you.

Totally agree... We need to have safer schools. This year within the first two months we as a country witnessed well over ten school shootings. There were even threats of violence for my children's school. I had to keep my children home from school for saftey and explain to five elementary school children that school wasn't safe right now because bad people were threatening to hurt kids with guns. This is not okay!!! Children should not have to practice active shooter drills like one would for a natural disasters. I hope this petition is a successful one.
